Quick Tip
Don’t wait until the last minute to upload your “wRAP” video. It takes between 1 and 5 minutes or more for every 1MB of video to upload—and that’s with a high-speed connection so it might take longer depending on your connection. The cut off time to have an approved video uploaded is 11:59:59 EST on July 15, 2009. Sorry, no exceptions. If your video is uploaded in time but declined because it does not meet the requirements, you only have until the contest deadline to fix it and resubmit.
So how do I know if I successfully submitted my “wRAP" video?
Once you have created an account and uploaded your “wRAP” on www.thatsawRAPcontest.com, you should receive an e-mail notification at the e-mail address you supplied letting you know your video has been received. This e-mail confirms that your video has been submitted into the review process where it will be evaluated to ensure it complies with the Official Rules. Please note that at this point your submission is undergoing review, and is not yet considered a valid entry into the contest. At this time, you will also receive an ID number for your video. Be sure to write this number down as it will help us identify your video should you have any questions.
How do I know if my “wRAP” video is accepted?
Once your “wRAP” video is reviewed, you will receive a confirmation e-mail. If your video complies with all Official Rules, the confirmation e-mail will state that your submission has been accepted as an entry into the challenge. If your video is not accepted as an entry, the confirmation e-mail will detail the reasons why your video was declined and provide next step options. You should receive the confirmation e-mail within 2-4 business days of your submission date.
How do I know if my “wRAP” video is declined?
Once your “wRAP” video is reviewed, you will receive an e-mail. If your video is not accepted as an entry, the e-mail will detail the reasons why your video was declined and provide next step options. You should receive the e-mail within 2-4 business days of your submission date.
If I fix a video that was declined, can I resubmit it?
Yes. We accept your first five approved submissions. If you have fewer than five approved and you received a rejection e-mail, just fix any portion that doesn’t comply with the contest rules and resubmit it. Once submitted, it will go through the approval process again. If it is approved, it will be counted as another approved submission.
Can I modify my video once it’s approved?
Yes, you can but you will need to resubmit and it will be counted as a separate entry if approved.
Can I submit more than one video?
You can submit as many as you want—but only your first five approved “wRAP” videos will be accepted for judging and posted on the site.
What is copyright infringement?
Using things in your submission, like music or video that somebody else created and/or owns, and that you do not have permission to use, such as a song that you hear on the radio.
Music you write and perform yourself is okay—and even admirable.
What is trademark infringement?
Generally, this would be showing a company’s name, logo or brand likeness without their permission.
What is inappropriate content?
Lea & Perrins® Worcestershire Sauce represents a family-friendly brand and has been loved by families of all ages for generations. Consequently, anything inappropriate for small kids and families is likely to be deemed as inappropriate content by the Lea & Perrins brand team. The final decision on such matters is the sole discretion of the Lea & Perrins team.
What is “not relevant content?”
A video with no connection to Lea & Perrins® Thick Classic® Worcestershire Sauce.
Can my video be in a language other than English?
No. Non. Nein. Nyet.
What if my video is less than 60 seconds—or more, for that matter?
Your video must be a minimum of 30 seconds but should not exceed 60 seconds. If your video is shorter than 30 seconds or longer than 60 seconds, you will receive an e-mail stating that your video did not meet the length requirements.
Can a group (family, fraternity, church group, Chinese checkers club) submit a “wRAP” video as a joint work?
Sure, just pick one person to enter, agree to the rules and accept the prize on the group’s behalf. We are not responsible for how the prizes are divided.
Am I required to feature my family in my family wRAP”?
No. You can go it solo or cast your friends and family members in your Ultimate Family “wRAP”. For purposes of this contest, a “Family” is defined as a group consisting of one to a maximum of 10 persons, whether or not such persons are related to each other or living in the same household. No person may be a member of more than one Family or participate in more than one Family’s Submissions (up to five approved videos). Pets are also welcome to make guest-starring appearances.
Can I submit a video if I don’t live in the U.S.?
Sorry, no. We wish we could, but due to legal and other constraints we have decided to limit the contest to only those who live in the U.S.
How old do I have to be to submit a video?
At least 18 years of age.
Can my two-year-old be in my video?
Anyone can be in your video as long as you have his or her legal guardian’s permission—and can provide it in writing if we ask.
Does my submission have to be a video? For example, can I submit a script?
Sorry, it has to be a video. Due to the nature of this challenge, we can only accept videos
Does the Lea & Perrins® Web site have any restrictions on video size?
The maximum file size for any submission to be uploaded to the Contest Web site is 100 MB
What format should my video be in? And by the way, what’s a format?
A format is the sequence and structure of frames that create a moving video image. We will be happy to accept videos in one of the following file formats: .flv, .avi, .mov, .mpg, wmv, .asf, .mpeg, .mp4, or .3gp.
It’s taking forever for my video to upload—is that normal?
It takes between 1 and 5 minutes or more for every 1MB of video to upload—and that’s with a high-speed connection so it might take longer depending on your connection. The two major things that affect upload time are the size of your file and the speed of your Internet connection.
I don’t have a computer—can I participate?
You have to have a computer, Internet access and an e-mail address to upload and register your “wRAP” video. Ask a friend or family member if you can use his or hers.
I don’t have a video camera—can I participate?
There’s only one way to participate—and that’s by making and submitting a “wRAP Video.” Check out the Yellow Pages for places that rent camcorders. Or how about borrowing one? Web cams on your computer and video settings on handheld digital cameras can also get the job done.
So how will my video be judged?
The 10 semi-finalists will be chosen by our esteemed panel of judges on the basis of (i) Originality – 25%; (ii) Overall appeal – 25%; (iii) Likelihood to motivate people to use Lea & Perrins® Thick Classic® Worcestershire Sauce -25%; and use of key messaging – 25%.
